Leann Alduenda is an Assistant Professor in the Dance Program at California Polytechnic State University. She holds a B.A. in Dance (Magna Cum Laude) from UC Riverside and an M.F.A. in Dance from UC Irvine. Her expertise spans Jazz Dance, Tap Dance, Contemporary Jazz, Choreography, and Pedagogy.
Leann has over 30 years of experience as a dancer, choreographer, and educator. She has performed with companies such as Rhapsody in Taps, Jazz Spectrum Dance Company, and Fuse Dance Company, and has been a finalist in notable competitions like Dance Under the Stars. She served as an Associate Professor at Santa Ana College and a lecturer at institutions including Chapman University and UC Irvine. Her choreography has been featured in venues across the U.S., including with Evoke Dance Company and AKOMIDANCE.
As an educator, Leann emphasizes fostering individuality, spontaneity, and inclusivity. She has directed the Jimmie DeFore Dance Center’s scholarship program and faculty showcase, and has held artist residencies at multiple colleges. Her awards include the Leo Freeman Foundation Fellowship and a Chancellor’s Scholarship.
