Dr. Jacqueline Blundell is Professor of Psychology at Memorial University, specializing in Behavioral Neuroscience. Her research investigates behavioral and neuroplastic changes underlying affective and cognitive disorders, using animal models to study stress pathology.
Current projects examine how traumatic stress alters neural circuits governing fear memory consolidation/reconsolidation, and how early developmental insults increase vulnerability to neuropsychiatric disorders. She employs molecular techniques alongside behavioral analysis to identify therapeutic targets.
Dr. Blundell mentors undergraduate and graduate researchers, offering hands-on experience in experimental design and neurobehavioral assessment. Her lab studies mTOR pathway inhibitors like rapamycin as potential PTSD treatments.
