Jacob Rivers serves as a Staff Lecturer in the Professional and Graduate Education (PaGE) department at Mount Holyoke College, bringing extensive experience from independent school environments across Connecticut, Massachusetts, Texas, and California. His multifaceted career includes roles as Grade-level Dean, DEI Coordinator, English Teacher, Advisor, Coach, and Dorm parent in both boarding and day school settings.
His academic foundation includes a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) from Mount Holyoke College, completed in 2019, which directly informs his professional expertise in educational leadership and teacher development. This advanced degree anchors his practical work in school administration and curriculum design.
Rivers' professional focus centers on transformative strategies for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within educational institutions, with particular emphasis on systemic support systems for educators of color. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with actionable solutions for recruitment, retention, and career advancement in independent schools, addressing critical gaps in educational equity through both institutional roles and entrepreneurial initiatives.
