Jacob Owsley is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport Studies (KRSS) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is affiliated with the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. His academic roles include teaching courses such as Sport Finance (RSM 340), Sport Governance (RSM 360), and Intercollegiate Athletics (RSM 410). Owsley holds a PhD in Educational Leadership and Organizational Development (Sport Administration) from the University of Louisville, an MBA in Business Administration (Information Systems and Data Analytics) from Troy University, and a BA in Exercise and Sport Science (Sport Administration) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
His research focuses on the intersection of sport ticketing and mobile technology, as well as consumer behavior within sport ticketing platforms. This work bridges technology adoption in sports events and audience engagement strategies. He actively contributes to academic discourse through his teaching and research in sports management and event administration.
