Norwegian University of Science And Technologyمعرفی
Jacob Joseph Lamb is an Associate Professor in Sustainable Energy Systems at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), affiliated with the Department of Energy and Process Engineering. He serves as Study Program Leader for the Bachelor in Engineering (Renewable Energy), WP8 Leader in FME Battery, and Theme Leader for Efficient Energy Usage in ENERSENSE. His roles include leading the Digital Energy Systems laboratory group and coordinating interdisciplinary projects in energy storage and digitalization.
Education includes a PhD (2013-2016), MSc (2011-2012), and BSc (2008-2010) from the University of Otago, New Zealand, followed by postdoctoral and researcher positions at NTNU before becoming an Assistant Professor (2021) and later Associate Professor (2021–present).
Research focuses on advanced energy storage systems, including lithium-ion and redox flow batteries, digitalization of energy systems, sensor technologies, bioenergy applications, and bioremediation. Current projects involve self-healing batteries, cold-climate battery optimization, and computational design platforms. He also leads initiatives like ReZinc (zinc-air flow batteries) and HeaLiSelf (battery diagnostics via fiber optics).
Past projects include digitalizing biogas production (DIGI), assessing vanadium redox batteries (FLOWBATX), and enhancing digital education (RE-OPEN). His work bridges computational modeling, experimental validation, and industrial application.
Labs/Teams: Digital Energy Systems group, FME Battery consortium, ENERSENSE initiative.
