معرفی
Jacob Brownscombe is an Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University's Department of Biology, Faculty of Science. He is based at Fisheries and Oceans Canada in Burlington, Ontario. His research integrates fish behavior, physiology, and applied fisheries management through laboratory experiments (e.g., swim tunnel respirometry), field studies (telemetry/electronic sensors), and machine learning. He focuses on how environmental factors influence fish survival and reproduction in changing ecosystems.
Education: MSc from Trent University, PhD from Carleton University.
Research Interests: Combines experimental biology, field ecology, and computational modeling to address fisheries and habitat management challenges. Key areas include fish metabolic performance, habitat-use dynamics, and predictive modeling of species responses to environmental changes.
Advising: Actively involves graduate students in interdisciplinary projects, with opportunities available in laboratory, field, and computational research streams.
