Jaclyn Tate is a Professor, Chair, and Program Director in the Athletic Training and Sports Medicine Department at Marietta College. She has been with the institution since 2009 and holds a dual appointment, dividing her time between classroom instruction and clinical work with athletes.
Educational Background:
- Ed.D. in Teaching and Learning Specialty from University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (2020)
- M.Ed. in College Student Personnel Administration from University of West Florida (2009)
- BS in Athletic Training from Ohio University (2007)
Professor Tate's research and professional interests focus on athletic training education, interprofessional practice in sports medicine, clinical education methodologies, and nutrition applications in athletic performance. She has developed innovative teaching approaches that integrate classroom learning with practical clinical experiences, emphasizing the importance of hands-on training for future athletic trainers.
She is particularly interested in international perspectives on sports medicine, having led multiple study abroad programs to Australia and Ireland where students engage with global sports medicine professionals and observe different healthcare systems in action. Her work in interprofessional education has been recognized through her peer reviewer roles for prominent journals in the field.

She also serves as the state meeting planner for the Ohio Athletic Trainers Association, organizing professional development events for practitioners across the state.
Professor Tate maintains an active clinical practice as an athletic trainer for the men's basketball team, ensuring she stays current with practical applications of athletic training principles while modeling professional practice for her students.
