Jaclyn NEO is an Associate Professor and Director of the Centre for Asian Legal Studies at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Faculty of Law. A graduate of NUS and Yale Law School, her research focuses on comparative constitutional law, law and religion in Asia, and access to justice in Singapore. She has held visiting positions at institutions such as Frankfurt University and Melbourne Law School, and serves on editorial boards for prominent legal journals including the International Journal of Constitutional Law.
Dr. NEO has received significant academic recognition, including the DILA International Law Prize for her work on international human rights law and the SHAPE-SEA Research Award for her studies on religious freedom in Southeast Asia. She leads multiple research grants from organizations like the Ministry of Education (Singapore) and the Singapore Judicial College, and her scholarship has influenced judicial decisions in Singapore and India.
Her academic contributions span edited volumes on constitutional interpretation, religious regulation, and legal pluralism. She actively engages with legal practice through roles on the Singapore Academy of Law’s Law Reform Committee and the ASEAN Law Association’s Executive Committee. Additional professional affiliations include elected membership in the International Society for Public Law (ICON-S) and advisory roles at the NUS Victim Care Unit and Singapore Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) Academy.
