معرفی
Dr. Jacklynn Fitzgerald is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Marquette University’s Department of Psychology, College of Arts & Sciences. Her research focuses on translating neurobiological mechanisms of emotion regulation to clinical populations, particularly PTSD, anxiety, and depression. She employs fMRI, EEG, and mixed-methods to study neurobiological correlates of emotion dysregulation and peripheral physiological responses.
Education: Ph.D. in Psychology (Behavioral Neuroscience) from the University of Illinois at Chicago (2017), M.A. (2014), B.A. (2006) from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Prior to academia, she worked in non-academic research in social sciences and pharmaceuticals.
Research Interests: Using neuroimaging and physiological measures, Dr. Fitzgerald examines how brain systems regulate emotions in clinical populations. Her work integrates neurobiological, hormonal, and behavioral data to understand PTSD onset and treatment responses. Key themes include amygdala function, cortisol dynamics, and reward processing in trauma survivors.
Lab: Translational Affective Neuroscience Lab (TANL), focusing on bridging basic and clinical research in emotion regulation and psychopathology.
Teaching: Courses include Research Methods in Psychology, Biopsychology, Affective Neuroscience, and Biological Bases of Behavior.
