Jack Wang is a Professor of Writing at Ithaca College’s School of Humanities and Sciences since 2006, where he served as Department Chair (2011-14, 2017-20). Holding a PhD in English/Creative Writing from Florida State University (2006), MFA in Creative Writing (University of Arizona, 1997), and BSc in Biology and Anthropology (University of Toronto, 1994), he explores the Chinese diaspora through fiction that spans five continents and multiple decades.
His research focuses include Chinese immigrant narratives, historical fiction, and cross-cultural identity. His acclaimed story collection We Two Alone (2020) won the Danuta Gleed Literary Award and Central New York Book Award, while The Riveter (2024) examines World War II Chinese Canadian contributions.

His publications, including short stories in The Fiddlehead, PRISM international, and The Malahat Review, reveal themes of racial identity, war, and cultural dislocation. Currently residing in Ithaca with novelist Angelina Mirabella and their daughters, he continues to publish and teach creative writing.
