معرفی
Dr Jack Sunter is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Biological and Medical Sciences, Oxford Brookes University. He studied Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge, conducted PhD research on Trypanosoma brucei under Professor Mark Carrington, and pursued post-doctoral studies at the University of Oxford with Professor Keith Gull. Since 2017, he has led a research group focused on molecular cell biology of parasites.
Research Highlights:
- Mechanisms of cytoskeletal-membrane interface morphogenesis in Trypanosoma brucei and Leishmania mexicana
- Role of flagellar attachment zones in host/vector interaction
- Development of CRISPR/Cas9 and protein-tagging toolkits for kinetoplastid parasites
Key Grants:
- Leverhulme Trust (2022-2024) - £118,679
- Wellcome Trust (2021-2026) - £427,983
- BBSRC (2022-2027) - £1,144,262
Collaborations: University of Ghana and University of Oxford for African trypanosomiasis research.
