Jack Laverick

Jack Laverick is a Lecturer in Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Strathclyde. He holds a PhD from the University of Oxford (2019) and a PGCert in Higher Education and Learning from Strathclyde (2022). His research focuses on climate change impacts on marine ecosystems, particularly in Arctic regions like Greenland, combining ecological modeling with policy analysis. Laverick serves as Associate Editor for Aquatic Conservation: Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems (2024–2026).

• Lead Principal Investigator for projects like Marine Match-Mismatch: Ecological Consequences of Climate-Driven Phenology Changes and AI-Enabled Ecosystem Management Models.
• Active in developing synthetic sediment maps for Arctic shelves and jellyfish bloom forecasting.
• Contributions to UN Sustainable Development Goal 14 (Life Below Water) and Goal 13 (Climate Action).

Research interests include trophic cascades in melting sea-ice regions, trawling expansion dynamics, and quantitative methods for uncertainty analysis in ecological modeling. His work integrates biophysical models with socio-economic dimensions of marine resource management.
