معرفی
Dr. Jack Henderson is a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow at the University of Surrey's School of Mathematics and Physics. His research focuses on experimental nuclear physics, particularly in nuclear structure, astrophysics, and the application of radioactive ion beams. He has held previous research positions at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and TRIUMF.
Education:
- 2014 - PhD in Physics, University of York
- 2011 - MPhys Physics, University of Manchester
Research Interests:
Jack Henderson's work explores the structure of exotic nuclei, with a focus on nuclear deformations and their implications for astrophysical processes. He employs advanced experimental techniques such as Coulomb excitation and gamma-ray spectroscopy, utilizing facilities like ISAC-II at TRIUMF and the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory. His studies contribute to understanding nuclear reactions critical for nucleosynthesis and medical applications, such as positron emission tomography (PET) using novel radioactive isotopes like 152Tb.
Scientific Awards:
- UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship
Key contributions include groundbreaking studies on nuclear deformation in 208Pb, neutron detection technologies, and fission neutron spectra analyses. Collaborations with global facilities like GRIFFIN spectrometer and the Chi-Nu experiment highlight his role in advancing nuclear physics and its interdisciplinary applications.
