Dr. Jacek Siry is the Stuckey Professor of Forest Economics and Taxation at the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, University of Georgia. He has held academic roles since 1997, progressing from Research Associate at North Carolina State University to his current professorship. His expertise spans forest economics, timber market modeling, and international conservation policy.
- Education: Ph.D. Natural Resource Economics (UGA, 1997), M.S. Forest Ecology (1997), B.A. Forest Engineering (University of Agriculture, Krakow, 1990).
Research focuses on optimizing timber market efficiency, global forestry practices, and multi-use resource management. His works include seminal textbooks like Forest Plans of North America and influential market analyses such as the 2015 US Timberland Markets report.
He leads the Harley Langdale Jr. Center for Forest Business and contributes to TimberMart-South, providing critical market data. Teaching includes courses on forest economics, international business strategies, and forestry information systems.
