Jacek Kornacki is a Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, serving as Head of the Painting Department and running the Painting Studio. He previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Painting from 2016 to 2020. Born in 1964, he graduated from the Faculty of Painting and Graphic Arts at the former State Higher School of Fine Arts (now Academy of Fine Arts Gdańsk), studying under Professor Mieczysław Olszewski.

His research focuses on anthropological themes in art, including funerals, postmodernism, and the preservation of historical relics. He explores contemporary issues like transplantology and the societal role of artists through projects such as the 'Be a Conscious Organ Donor' campaign and the long-term 'Archetype – Consciousness – Place' initiative. His work bridges art and science, particularly in imaging techniques.
He is deeply involved with the SFINKS Foundation in Sopot and has organized over a dozen solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions. His artistic practice includes painting, drawing, installations, and cultural interventions.
Notable projects include the 'Crosses series' and 'Yves Klein's Broken Heart,' combining materials like polyester resin, paraffin, glass, and steel to reflect on transience and cultural continuity.
