Jacek Friedrich

Dr hab. Jacek Friedrich, Associate Professor at the Faculty of History, University of Gdańsk, specializes in the history of architecture and visual culture in Gdańsk/Danzig from modern times to contemporary periods. His research explores the intersections of visual culture and ideology in the 19th and 20th centuries, post-1945 urban reconstruction, and architectural discourse in Poland's second half of the 20th century.

Research Focus: He has extensively published on topics including the rebuilding of Gdańsk after WWII, ideological influences on urban planning, and the preservation of cultural heritage through architectural illustration and historical narratives.
