Jaakko Tapio Astola is a Professor of Signal Processing at Tampere University of Technology since 1993. He held roles such as Academy Professor (2001–2006), Associate Professor of Applied Mathematics (1988–1993), and various acting professorships. His research focuses on signal processing, bioinformatics, and coding theory.
