JP Leider

JP Leider is an Associate Professor in the Division of Health Policy and Management at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. He serves as the founding director of the School’s Center for Public Health Systems, which supports governmental public health departments in research, evaluation, and technical assistance. Additionally, he directs the evaluation efforts for the Region V Public Health Training Center and leads the Consortium for Workforce Research in Public Health (CWORPH), focusing on public health finance, workforce, and infrastructure through collaborations with universities, foundations, and national organizations.

Leider holds a PhD in Health Policy and Management from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota. His research emphasizes practice-oriented solutions for public health systems, bridging academic research with real-world public health challenges.

His advisory and grant activities include leading multidisciplinary projects with public health practitioners and organizations, focusing on workforce development and infrastructure improvements. Key partnerships involve national public health organizations and philanthropic foundations. Leider’s work also extends to evaluating training programs and advancing health policy through evidence-based strategies.
