Prof. dr. J.N. Bouwman is a Professor of Tax Law at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Law, specializing in corporate tax and income tax. He chairs the Tax Law and Law Economics group and holds editorial roles at several legal publications, including the Nederlandse Documentatie Fiscaal Recht and Nederlands Tijdschrift Fiscaal Recht-beschouwingen. His research focuses on corporate taxation, tax avoidance, and international tax policy, contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to economic systems. He has authored over 180 publications, including reports for the Dutch Ministry of Finance and studies on cross-border tax rulings. Prof. Bouwman advises governmental bodies and collaborates internationally, recently contributing to an independent commission on tax rulings. His teaching includes courses on tax law fundamentals, corporate taxation, and European tax systems.
