Dr. J. Wesley (Wes) Null is the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and Academic Affairs at Baylor University, a role he has held since 2011. He is also a Professor of Curriculum & Foundations of Education, with faculty appointments in the School of Education and the Honors College. Null earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and holds B.S.Ed. and M.Ed. degrees from Eastern New Mexico University.
His research focuses on the history of American education and curriculum theory, with notable publications including Curriculum: From Theory to Practice (2023) and A Disciplined Progressive Educator: The Life and Career of William Chandler Bagley (2003). He has served as president of the American Association for Teaching and Curriculum and editor of the American Educational History Journal.
In his administrative role, Null oversees undergraduate curriculum revision, SACSCOC accreditation efforts, and collaborations to enhance student success. He also works with other institutions to establish articulation agreements and vision alignment for undergraduate education.
