J. Wesley Leckrone is a Professor of Political Science at Widener University's College of Arts and Sciences, where he also serves as Chair and Pre-Law Advisor. His expertise spans American Federalism, State and Local Politics, and Public Policy, with a particular focus on Pennsylvania politics and the American presidency.
- Education: PhD in Political Science (2006) and MA in American History (1995) from Temple University, BA in Political Science (1991) from American University.
Leckrone's research emphasizes federalism, intergovernmental lobbying, and state policy agendas. He has co-edited notable works including Teaching Federalism: Multidimensional Approaches (2023) and Pennsylvania Politics and Policy: A Commonwealth Reader (2018, 2019). His recent work explores the intersection of federalism and pandemic response, with four co-authored publications on the topic.
His scholarship appears in Publius: The Journal of Federalism and the Federalism Digest. As a Fellow at the Center for the Study of Federalism and former editor of Commonwealth: A Journal of Pennsylvania Politics and Policy, Leckrone actively shapes academic discourse on federal systems.
