J. Robert Baker is a Professor of Political Science at Wittenberg University, teaching since 1987. He chaired the Political Science Department (1996-2003), directed the Urban Studies Program (1994-1996), and served as Interim Faculty Director and Director of Community-Based Research at the Hagen Center for Civic and Urban Engagement.

Professor Baker's research centers on American Politics, with emphasis on State and Local Government and Urban Politics.
