J. Mark Pousson is an Associate Professor of Higher Education Administration at Saint Louis University's School of Education, serving as Interim Director of The Ability Institute. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Higher Education from Saint Louis University (2011), along with degrees in Social Work (MSW, SLU, 1993) and Philosophy (BA, 1980). His professional roles include prior service as Director of Academic Resources at Fontbonne University and Disability Services Manager at SLU.
Research focuses on college students with disabilities, student success, and health/wellness. Key interests include disability identity development, universal design pedagogy, and LGBTQIA student inclusion. He has authored/co-authored peer-reviewed studies on disability attitudes, Ignatian pedagogy frameworks, and K-12 teacher professional development.
