J M de Leon

J M de Leon is a Part-Time Lecturer at New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study, focusing on queer futures, aesthetics, and performance theory. Their dissertation on self-indulgence in politics and aesthetics received the Monroe Lippmann Memorial Award. As Director of Engagement at NYU's Skirball Center, they co-founded the NYU Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies Working Group and previously managed Women & Performance journal.

Their interdisciplinary work bridges performance art and social theory, exploring identity and cultural narratives.
