Izzy Barszcz is an Animation Lecturer at the London College of Communication, part of the University of the Arts London, and lectures at the University of Surrey. She holds an MA in Directing Animation from the National Film and Television School and a BA (Hons) in Animation from Middlesex University, alongside a PGCert in Higher Education. With over nine years of experience in higher education, she is an award-winning animation director known for collaborative projects like Remember the Future and The Many Faces of Ava, which emphasize environmentalism and human rights. Her work spans diverse animation techniques and narrative formats.

Izzy's research and creative practice focus on storytelling through diverse animation techniques, integrating themes of environmentalism and human rights. She collaborates with composers, musicians, and opera productions on international projects, while expanding her illustration and printmaking practice at the Royal Drawing School.
Recent professional activities include serving as a member of the Sustain Film Festival (2024), fostering international relationships with the Kosovo Animation Festival, and a research residency at Studio Kura in Japan. She co-founded the De Montage Art Collective, specializing in animated projections for operatic performances across London, Germany, and Japan.
