Izabela Poprawa is a researcher and PhD candidate at the University of Wrocław's Faculty of Philology, Department of Contemporary Polish Language. Her work focuses on postcolonial writing strategies in African Francophone literature, cultural theory, and world literature. She is supervised by Prof. Marian Bielecki and has published extensively on topics such as postcolonial cities, moral narratives in literature, and the philosophy of Frantz Fanon. Her research bridges literary analysis with critical theory, examining the intersections of colonial history, cultural identity, and textual representation.
She defended an MA thesis on postcolonial aspects of Alain Mabanckou's work and is currently writing her doctoral dissertation on postcolonial writing strategies in African literature. Her publications appear in journals like Facta Ficta Journal and Śląskie Studia Polonistyczne, emphasizing themes of decolonization, oral traditions, and comparative literature.
Izabela is actively engaged with interdisciplinary research, exploring how postcolonial authors employ narrative techniques to deconstruct colonial legacies. Her work contributes to broader debates in world literature and cultural studies, challenging traditional frameworks through a postcolonial lens.
