Prof. Iván Herráez is a Professor of Renewable Energy Technology with a focus on Wind Energy at the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer. He is affiliated with the Department of Engineering and Natural Sciences (Technik - Naturwissenschaften) and serves as the spokesperson for the Bachelor program in Sustainable Energy Systems and the international coordinator for the Natural Sciences Engineering department. His research integrates advanced computational methods like Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and machine learning to optimize renewable energy systems, particularly wind energy technologies.
His work spans numerical fluid dynamics, fluid-structure interaction, and system dynamics, aiming to enhance the efficiency and reliability of wind turbines through precise simulations and data-driven models. Key areas include rotor blade aerodynamics, wake behavior analysis, and the application of machine learning in renewable energy systems.
