Ivo Zander is Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Department of Business Studies, Uppsala University. He also serves as a researcher at Uppsala University Conflicting Objectives Research Nexus (UUniCORN). His work spans international business, entrepreneurship, and multinational corporation dynamics, with particular focus on corporate entrepreneurship and technological innovation within global firms.
Zander received his PhD from the Institute of International Business, Stockholm School of Economics. He has held visiting scholar positions at Harvard Business School, SCANCOR at Stanford University, and Macquarie Graduate School of Management.
His research interests include the entrepreneurial dynamics of accelerated internationalization, the evolution of advanced foreign subsidiaries of multinational corporations, and corporate entrepreneurship. Recent work focuses on intrapreneurship, innovation in turbulent times, and gender perspectives on corporate culture and innovation. His research demonstrates a clear trajectory from studying multinational corporation structures to contemporary issues of corporate entrepreneurship and innovation management.
Zander's publications reveal strong engagement with top-tier journals including Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, and Research Policy. His recent work shows increasing focus on practical applications of entrepreneurship theory, particularly through the Intraprenörskapskompassen reports that bridge academic research with practical business applications.
