Ivana Milic is a Lecturer in the School of Biosciences at Aston University, part of the College of Health and Life Sciences. She holds a PhD in Bioanalytical Chemistry from Universität Leipzig (2016) and MSc degrees in Advanced Spectroscopy (Universität Leipzig, 2010) and Physical Chemistry (University of Belgrade, 2008). She currently serves as Chief Scientific Officer since August 2023 and is affiliated with the Aston Institute for Membrane Excellence.
Her research focuses on lipid biochemistry, including lipid peroxidation, extracellular vesicles, and redox regulation. Key areas include analyzing oxylipins via LC-MS/MS, investigating Alzheimer's disease mechanisms, and studying membrane protein-lipid interactions. Recent work highlights include technical advancements in lipidomics, neurodegenerative disease modeling, and parasite drug resistance studies.
Dr. Milic has published 23 research outputs since 2012, with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches combining analytical chemistry, cell biology, and systems biology. Her datasets explore topics such as phospholipid oxidation in Alzheimer's patients and protein adduct formation from lipid oxidation products.
