معرفی
Ivana Gudelj is a Professor of Evolutionary Systems Biology at the Biosciences department of the University of Exeter. She leads an interdisciplinary research group combining mathematical modeling, systems biology, and experimental approaches to study microbial competition, cooperation, and coevolution. Her work addresses fundamental questions in evolutionary biology related to diversity, virulence, and antimicrobial resistance.
- PhD in Applied Mathematics (University of Bath, 2002)
- BSc in Mathematical Sciences (University of Bath, 1998)
Research Focus: The Gudelj lab investigates multi-trait microbial cooperation in Magnaporthe oryzae, metabolic drivers of host selection in Candida pathogens, and eco-evolutionary dynamics of cancer resistance. Their work integrates population-level frameworks with systems biology to analyze how individual microbial traits shape community behavior under stressors.
Awards:
- NERC Advanced Fellow (2011–present, Exeter)
- NERC EMS Fellow (University of Bath, 2007–2008)
- NERC EMS Fellow (Imperial College London, 2004–2006)
- ERC-funded project on microbial polymorphisms
