معرفی
Dr. Ivan de la Hera is a Researcher at the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences, University College Cork (UCC). He holds a Biology degree (2003) and PhD (2009) from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, followed by postdoctoral research at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW) and Universidad del País Vasco. His work focuses on avian life-history evolution, particularly migration, moult-breeding trade-offs, and cognitive adaptations within Prof. John Quinn's Evolutionary Ecology group at UCC.
Education:
- Bachelor's in Biology, Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2003)
- PhD in Ecology, Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2009)
Research Interests:
Using birds as models, he examines ecological and evolutionary questions related to migration strategies, feather molt dynamics, and life-history trade-offs. Current projects integrate cognitive studies to expand insights into life-history evolution.
Publications:
His research spans over 14 peer-reviewed articles since 2009, with recent work exploring migratory behavior, feather morphology, and climate impacts on avian reproduction. Key findings include insights into molt timing, feather quality trade-offs, and the adaptive value of vertical mite transmission.
Labs/Teams:
Active member of the UCC Ornithology Research Group and collaborator with global institutions like NIOO-KNAW.
