Ivan Popchev

Academician Ivan Popchev, awarded Doctor Honoris Causa by Burgas Free University in 2005, is a co-founder of the Faculty for Computer Science and Engineering and a seminal figure in management theory and computer science. His work includes over 300 research publications and textbooks in Bulgarian and English, with his Truth Maintenance Theory in Artificial Intelligence cited in major encyclopedic references. As a prolific researcher and educator, he has supervised more than 30 PhD theses and delivered lectures internationally in cities like Berlin, Moscow, and Tokyo.
