Dr. Ivan Mihaljević is a Research Associate at the Laboratory for Molecular Ecotoxicology, Division for Marine and Environmental Research, Ruđer Bošković Institute, Zagreb. His work focuses on molecular mechanisms of xenobiotic transport in aquatic organisms, particularly zebrafish models.
- Education:
- PhD (in progress): Interdisciplinary Molecular Biosciences at University of Osijek, Ruđer Bošković Institute, and University of Dubrovnik
- Master's: Biology, University of Osijek (2011)
- Bachelor's: Biology, University of Osijek (2008)
Research Interests include ecotoxicology, membrane transporter proteins, and environmental contaminant impacts on aquatic organisms. Key projects investigate ABC transporters and their role in toxicant disposition, with applications in drug interaction and pollutant risk assessment.
Recent Publications span molecular characterization of transporters (Oatp1d1, Mate3, Oct1), electrochemical toxicity assays (Cu-nitrocatechol), and functional studies on GSTs and SLC families. These studies employ zebrafish embryos to model human disease mechanisms and environmental toxicology.
