Ivan Koprivica is a Researcher at the Department of Immunology, University of Belgrade's Institute for Biological Research 'Siniša Stanković', where he has been working since 2016. His research focuses on autoimmune processes related to type 1 diabetes and immunomodulation.
Dr. Koprivica completed his PhD in Biology from the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Biology in 2020 with a dissertation titled "Effects of ethyl pyruvate on the development of type 1 diabetes in C57BL/6 mice." He also holds an MSc (2016) and BSc (2014) in Biology from the same institution.
His primary research interests include:
- Physiological and pharmacological modulation of autoimmune processes against pancreatic β cells in type 1 diabetes models
- Role of the intestinal immune system in the development and regulation of autoimmune responses in type 1 diabetes
- Immunomodulatory potential of newly synthesized aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) modulators
Dr. Koprivica is an active member of several professional organizations including the Club of Serbian Young Immunologists (since 2021), Immunological Society of Serbia, Serbian Biochemical Society, and Serbian Society for Molecular Biology (all since 2016).
