Dr. Ivan Kadurin is a Lecturer in Physiology at Queen Mary University of London, School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences. His research focuses on ion channels, neuronal excitation, electrophysiology, and protein trafficking, particularly investigating voltage-gated calcium channels in neurons and cerebrovascular systems. He leads the Kadurin Lab, established in 2022, supported by an MRC New Investigator Research Grant (2022–2025). His work combines electrophysiology, flow cytometry, and biochemical techniques to study channel structure-function relationships and drug mechanisms.
Education: PhD in Life Sciences from the University of Tübingen (Germany), postdoctoral studies at UCL under Prof. Annette Dolphin, and visiting research at UCLA with Prof. Riccardo Olcese. Grants include BHF Project Grant (2019–2021) and MRC funding.
Research Interests: Calcium channel regulation, synaptic vesicle release, and drug-target interactions. Lab members include Dr. Najoua Biba (postdoc) and PhD students Hannah Lee and AJ Martin. Notable achievements include the John V. Priestley Prize (2024 for Abbie Finlay). The lab is part of the Blizard Institute, offering state-of-the-art facilities for electrophysiology and molecular biology.
