Ivan Bondoc is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Toronto (Faculty of Arts and Science). His research focuses on morphosyntactic structure and processing in Tagalog and other Philippine-type languages, with a particular interest in sentence processing mechanisms, clinical applications in aphasia, and language acquisition. He holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Hawaii at Mānoa and additional certifications in measurement statistics.

Research Interests: Bondoc’s work bridges theoretical linguistics and psycholinguistics, investigating how grammatical properties interact with real-time language processing. His clinical research develops culturally adapted tools for Tagalog-speaking populations with aphasia. He also explores morphological complexity in child language acquisition and syntactic universals in Austronesian languages.
Teaching: He teaches courses on psycholinguistics, syntax, quantitative methods, and clinical linguistics at the University of Toronto, including Advanced Psycholinguistics (JLP471H1F) and Quantitative Methods in Linguistics (LIN305H1S).
Labs & Collaborations: Bondoc collaborates with international teams on neurolinguistic assessments (e.g., CATS test battery) and maintains active participation in conferences like the Annual Meeting of the Austronesian Formal Linguistics Association.
