معرفی
Dr. Ivan Belousov is a Senior Research Fellow in Mineralogy and Geochemistry at the University of Tasmania's School of Natural Sciences, part of the CODES (CRC Ore Deposit Evolution and Sustainable Exploitation) research group. He leads CODES Program 5: Analytical Research and manages LA-ICP-MS laboratories. His expertise spans ore deposits geochemistry, mantle processes, and analytical method development.
Education:
- PhD (2012): Petrology and Geochemistry of Mantle Section Rocks, Vernadsky Institute (Russia)
- MSc (2005): Composition of Primitive Melts, Moscow State University
- BSc (2004): Experimental Petrology, Moscow State University
Research Focus: Dr. Belousov investigates magma evolution, mantle processes, and ore deposit vectoring using LA-ICP-MS techniques. He develops calibration standards for sulfide analysis and explores subduction zone magmatism.
Projects & Collaborations:
- Amira P1249: Complex Orebody Optimization
- Regional Research Collaboration: Critical Metals Production
- CODES Analytical Labs: Industry reports on U/Pb geochronology and mineral chemistry
Advising & Grants: Supervises three doctoral students on topics like tephra fingerprinting and porphyry Cu deposits. Active in funded projects like the AMIRA Hub and GSWA collaborations. Manages analytical research programs with industry partnerships.
Labs & Teams: Leads CODES Program 5 and collaborates with global LA-ICP-MS labs. Produces widely used STDGL3 sulfide reference material. Engages in mineral exploration projects across multiple continents.
