معرفی
Ivan A. Moreno-Hernandez is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Duke University, affiliated with the Trinity College of Arts & Sciences. His research focuses on advancing renewable energy technologies through the study of electrochemical materials using liquid cell transmission electron microscopy (TEM), enabling real-time observation of material dynamics at near-atomic resolution. His expertise spans electrocatalysis, nanotechnology, and energy storage systems.
Education: Ph.D. in Chemistry from the California Institute of Technology (2019) and B.Sc. from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln (2014). Prior to Duke, he was a Postdoctoral Scholar at UC Berkeley (2019–2022).
Key research interests include understanding structural dynamics in electrocatalysts, developing stable materials for energy conversion, and leveraging advanced microscopy techniques for in situ analysis. He has secured grants such as the NSF CAREER Award (2024) and an American Chemical Society grant (2025–2027) for projects on oxygen electrocatalysis and nanocrystal interface observations.
His publications (2020–2025) emphasize electrochemical degradation mechanisms, catalyst stability, and nanostructure synthesis. Teaching includes courses like Physical Chemistry II and Research Independent Studies at various levels.
