István Karasszon

Prof. Dr. István Karasszon is a university professor and head of the Department of Old and New Testament at Károli Gáspár Reformed University's Faculty of Theology. He also serves as Head of the Doctoral Program and manages the Biblical and Jewish Research Institute.

His educational background includes:

Professor Karasszon's research focuses on biblical studies and Judaism. He has also served as an opponent at doctoral defenses for Sándor Békési (2004), Baruch Oberlander (2010), Imre Tokics (2012), and Antal Babits (2015).

He holds significant leadership positions including President of the Old Testament Section and Member of the Oriental Studies Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Professor Karasszon has conducted research visits to Jerusalem (1984) and Atlanta (1993), and continues to contribute to theological scholarship through his editorial role with the Theological Forum.
