Israel Sanz-Sánchez is a Professor of Languages and Director of the Linguistics Program at West Chester University's Department of Languages and Cultures. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, an M.A. from San Diego State University, and a Licenciatura from Universidad de Valladolid. His research focuses on historical sociolinguistics, language contact in the Americas, and the evolution of Spanish dialects in the US Southwest. He has published extensively on topics such as dialect contact, colonial language dynamics, and the role of children in language change.
He serves as editor of the Journal of Historical Sociolinguistics and is actively involved in academic networks like NARNiHS and HiSoN.
