Montserrat Recalde Fernández

Maria Montserrat Recalde Fernández is a Lecturer at the Department of Spanish Language and Literature, Literary Theory and General Linguistics, University of Santiago de Compostela. Affiliated with K-CLARIN and the ILG Center, her work integrates sociolinguistic research with corpus development.

Her research focuses on sociolinguistics and discourse analysis, particularly linguistic ideologies, language contact, and folk linguistics. Recent work examines rural dialect perceptions and metalinguistic frameworks for oral Spanish.

Key projects include the Proyecto Sociolingüístico para el Español de España y América (PRESEEA), the ESLORA series for oral Spanish corpora, and the Mapa sociolingüístico de Galicia. Publications span monographs on linguistic competence and edited volumes on historical language interactions.
