Isobel Braithwaite

Dr. Isobel Braithwaite is a Clinical Research Fellow at the University College London (UCL) under the NIHR Doctoral Fellowship, affiliated with the Institute of Health Informatics and Research Department of Primary Care and Population Health. She contributes to the Health Determinants and Inequalities Group, Public Health Data Science team, and the VirusWatch study on COVID-19. Her work intersects public health, climate action, and social equity, aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and 13 (Climate Action).

Research interests include housing and health, climate change, air pollution, health inequalities, and co-production with marginalized communities. She collaborates with the Faculty of Public Health and Medact on housing-climate health links. Her publications address pandemic dynamics, health equity in housing, and environmental determinants of health, blending epidemiology, data science, and policy analysis.

Grants include the NIHR-funded PhD Fellowship, supporting her research on housing and health. She supervises MSc dissertations and teaches epidemiology, research methods, and climate change health impacts.
