Ismar Volić is a Professor and Chair of the Mathematics & Statistics Department at Wellesley College. He directs the Institute for Mathematics and Democracy, focusing on applying mathematics to democratic processes. His research spans algebraic topology, calculus of functors, and their applications to embedding spaces, knots, and political structures.
