Islam Boussaada is a Full Professor at IPSA, a leading French engineering school specializing in aeronautics and aerospace. He is also an associate researcher at the Laboratory of Signals and Systems (L2S) at Université Paris-Saclay and with the DISCO team at Inria Saclay. He holds a Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches in Physics from Université Paris-Saclay (2016) and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Rouen Normandy (2008). His research focuses on the qualitative theory of dynamical systems and partial differential equations, with applications in control theory, particularly time-delay systems, parametric systems, and vibration control.
He has organized major international conferences, including the IFAC Joint Conference 2025, and co-led national research groups like GT OSYDI. He was Deputy Director of the IRS iCODE Institute (2019–2021) and serves on the SAGIP administration council (2019–2025). In 2024, he received the CNRS–Africa Joint Research Program for the SPECTRE-EDP project.
His work spans over 150 peer-reviewed publications, including a monograph and contributed volumes. He leads the P3δ project for delay-based control design, emphasizing partial pole placement and stability optimization in time-delay systems.
