Dr. Isla Shill is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Injury & Illness Epidemiology at the University of Edinburgh, affiliated with the Sports Medicine Research Network UK Collaborating Centre on Injury and Illness Prevention in Sport. Her research focuses on sport injury epidemiology, risk factors, and prevention strategies in youth sport cohorts, with a specialization in sport-related concussion and girls/women athlete injury prevention.
- Education: PhD (2024), MSc (2020), and BSc (2018) in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary
Her PhD evaluated injury and concussion prevention strategies in girl's rugby using injury surveillance and video analysis methodologies. She is currently supervising Hamish Gornall on a World Rugby/Scottish Rugby Union-funded project titled Tackle height law change and concussion evaluation in Scottish Rugby.
