Isaiah Hunt is a Hopkins Post-Graduate Fellow in the Department of English at John Carroll University. He holds an MFA in English from Kent State University and a Bachelors in English from the same institution, alongside an Associate of Arts from Cuyahoga Community College.

His research focuses on Afrofuturism and Pan-African History, with published works featured at Luna Negra, Camel Coat Press, and the Wick Poetry Center. He is particularly passionate about integrating Black characters and narratives into speculative fiction, influenced by his transformative experience in Fiction Writing I at Kent State.
Isaiah’s academic journey began in journalism but pivoted to English after discovering his affinity for crafting alternate realities through writing. He actively facilitates creative writing workshops and emphasizes diverse storytelling perspectives.
