Noah Bickart is the inaugural holder of the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Chair in Jewish Studies and an Associate Professor in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at John Carroll University. He joined the faculty in Fall 2018 after previous academic appointments at Yale University and the Jewish Theological Seminary.

Research Focus
Dr. Bickart specializes in Talmudic studies with interdisciplinary emphasis on rabbinic literature's linguistic structures, gender discourse, and historical development. His work examines Babylonian Talmud scholasticism, Jewish messianic traditions, and the intersection of sexuality with religious law.

Recent publications (2016-2022) demonstrate consistent focus on Talmudic hermeneutics, with evolving emphasis on gender analysis and textual metaphors.
