معرفی
Isabelle Hautbout is a Lecturer in 19th-century French literature at the University of Picardy Jules Verne, affiliated with the Center for the Study of Linguistic and Literary Relations and Contacts (CERCLL). She also teaches expression and communication courses at the University Institute of Technology for Business and Administration Management in Amiens, where she serves as the responsible for international mobility and coordinates a Learning and Assessment Situation focused on sustainable development.
Specializing in 19th century French literature, Hautbout has established herself as a leading scholar in Alfred de Vigny studies while broadening her research to contemporary ecological narratives, urban literature focusing on Paris and London, biblical rewritings (particularly Abel and Cain narratives), and more recent explorations into comic strips and video game narratives. Her work consistently examines the articulation between literature and ideas, particularly religious concepts.
Hautbout's research output shows a clear trajectory from traditional literary scholarship toward interdisciplinary approaches that connect historical literary forms with contemporary issues. Her recent publications (2021-2025) increasingly focus on ecological narratives, sustainability communication, migration stories in comics, and the relationship between video games and literary forms, demonstrating her ability to bridge historical literary analysis with pressing contemporary concerns.
Notable Recognition:
- European Heritage Prize (2019) for the web documentary 'Ancres, passages: ten writers from Picardy to Flanders'
Hautbout maintains an active research profile with publications spanning from 2009 to 2025. Her collaborative approach is evident in numerous co-edited volumes and special journal issues, often involving international partnerships. She has coordinated significant research projects including the award-winning web documentary and the 'Balaton program' with European funding that included international conferences in Debrecen and Amiens.
Her current research interests reflect a dynamic engagement with both historical literary traditions and contemporary cultural forms, particularly in how narrative techniques evolve across different media while addressing enduring human concerns about ethics, environment, and social organization.
