Isabelle Hautbout

Isabelle Hautbout is a Lecturer in 19th-century French literature at the University of Picardy Jules Verne, affiliated with the Center for the Study of Linguistic and Literary Relations and Contacts (CERCLL). She also teaches expression and communication courses at the University Institute of Technology for Business and Administration Management in Amiens, where she serves as the responsible for international mobility and coordinates a Learning and Assessment Situation focused on sustainable development.

Specializing in 19th century French literature, Hautbout has established herself as a leading scholar in Alfred de Vigny studies while broadening her research to contemporary ecological narratives, urban literature focusing on Paris and London, biblical rewritings (particularly Abel and Cain narratives), and more recent explorations into comic strips and video game narratives. Her work consistently examines the articulation between literature and ideas, particularly religious concepts.
