Isabella Weis

Isabella Weis MSc. is a researcher at the Institute of Wildlife Biology and Game Management, part of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). She specializes in biodiversity monitoring and ecological research, with a focus on meadow orchards and indicator organisms.

Her educational background includes a 2019-2023 Master's in Nature Conservation and Biodiversity Management and a 2015-2019 Bachelor in Biology/Zoology, both from the University of Vienna. She contributes to projects applying genetic and ecological methods for conservation efforts.

Isabella's research involves developing automated monitoring systems for biodiversity, such as acoustic device applications in bird species surveillance. Her work intersects with environmental biotechnology, landscape ecology, and habitat conservation, particularly in Austrian agrarian landscapes.

She is involved in the 2024-2025 DivMoSt project, which focuses on meadow orchard biodiversity. Her work supports national and international conservation strategies, aligning with sustainable land use practices across ecosystems.
