Isabella Livorni is a Professor at New York University's College of Arts & Science. Her research centers on cultural and racial hybridity in Italian communities after fascism, with a focus on formal strategies such as multilingualism and multimediality. She has published scholarly work in West 86th, California Italian Studies, and the Italian American Review.
As a literary translator, she works between Italian and English, with translations appearing in Lunch Ticket, Asymptote, and Nazione Indiana. Her dissertation analyzed Amelia Rosselli's depictions of hybrid subjects through poetic, musical, and ethnographic work from 1950 to 1965.
